LAPS filter jangly post-punk motifs through unexpected time changes, illustrating a thematic
search for redemption through constant movement. Propelling forward indeed – forming in
late 2015, in their short life the four-piece has played a handful of festivals (Halifax POP
Explosion, POP Montreal, Flourish, Fuze Fest, Sled Island, Quality Block Party and
Kazoo! Fest), dabbled in releases of various sorts (an EP, several compilations, a split tape,
and a full-length due in 2018) and switched cities (from Fredericton to Montreal). Female fronted
and directed, LAPS have a post-prog approach to guitar-based composition that is
dramatic or latent, as sea can be...affected by its surroundings, with perpetual undercurrents
