About Out of Earshot
Out of Earshot is a non-profit, community-based festival in St. John’s, NL dedicated to showcasing DIY and emerging Canadian bands and artists. As a festival we aim to create supportive spaces for the performance and appreciation of multiple art forms.
Out of Earshot prioritizes bands and artists who demonstrate inclusive politics in their respective communities.
The Out of Earshot organizing team is Jess Barry, Sarah Harris, Nicole Boggan, Pepa Chan, Robin Follett, Riley Pike (they/them), Nicole Squires, Becky Gibson, and Maria Peddle.
Code of conduct
OoE aims to create a supportive and enjoyable festival experience for all participants. Any form of physical or sexual violence, harassment, abuse or discrimination on any grounds will not be tolerated during our festival. Should an issue arise we reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate (in consultation with the person/people impacted). All OoE participants (organizers, volunteers, artists, and festival-goers) are expected to abide by these guidelines.

We respectfully acknowledge the territory in which we gather as the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk, and the island of Newfoundland as the ancestral
homelands of the Mi’kmaq and Beothuk. We would also like to recognize the Inuit of Nunatsiavut and NunatuKavut and the Innu of Nitassinan, and their ancestors, as the original people of Labrador.
